Hello

I'm Zach, a Bay Area real estate agent and Oakland homeowner. I make videos about living here and help people buy and sell across the East Bay and San Francisco, without the pressure.

What clients say

What it's like working with me

A leading, top real estate professional who goes the extra mile. I've used him twice, and both times he provided excellent advice and execution. Down to earth and easy to talk through tough issues with. Would highly recommend!

— Reg

I highly recommend Zach as an agent. He is knowledgeable, patient, thoughtful, and dedicated. He helped me through my first home purchase, answering my gazillion questions quickly and succinctly. He gets straight to the point. He took time to really understand what I wanted and filtered out all the stuff he knew I wouldn't be interested in. I worked with him and Mark and they were a great duo.

Zach is simply AMAZING and is 100% responsible for finding our dream house! We reached out to him after watching his informative Youtube videos about the East Bay. Zach was very responsive, friendly, and patient with our lengthy emails. Zach's knowledge and intuition about the East Bay market convinced us to make a visit to a home we'd nixed as over budget. We fell in love, submitted an offer we felt comfortable with, and it was accepted. Even after closing, Zach has been an invaluable resource with recommending electricians, roofers, and more. If you need a realtor in the East Bay, this is the guy.

— Grayson

We are so glad we partnered with Zach to buy our first home. With Zach's patient guidance and constant support, we landed the perfect house for our family. Zach was an immediate and reassuring resource for every question or concern we had along the journey, however minor, major, practical, or philosophical! We had so much more confidence knowing Zach's patient, even-keeled approach as well as his extensive knowledge and network were just a text or call away.

— Sandra

Being a first time home buyer can be overwhelming and we were so grateful to have found Zach to guide us. What was even better were the individuals that Zach recommended along the way (lending firm, home insurance, etc.); those recommendations paid dividends. He was incredible in laying out the hard facts while also giving us space to talk without putting undue time pressure. We're so lucky to have had him be our agent; we plan to use him again in the future.

— Pete

We worked with Zach on our recent home purchase, and we were both impressed and very happy. Zach really prioritized our interests as buyers and gave unbiased opinions, developing a strategy to maximize value for us. He is timely and super responsive, yet we never felt pressured. He made the entire closing process easy and stress free, working with our lenders to ensure a timely closing, even during the Christmas break.

— Jose

I'd strongly recommend working with Zach as a real estate agent. He was knowledgeable, impressively responsive around the clock, warm and friendly, and just all around really good at his job. He went above and beyond to answer our many questions, doing proactive research to help us navigate bidding strategy. I appreciated his communication style especially, really responsive, clear, low pressure, patient, kind, and just really easy to work with.

I’m originally from Cincinnati, but I’ve called the Bay Area home since 2009. I live in the Oakland Hills with my wife, our daughter, and our dog, and I help clients buy, sell, and invest throughout Oakland, the East Bay, and the greater Bay Area.

My path into real estate began when I bought my home in Oakland. I became fascinated by the process of understanding the market, evaluating a property’s potential, and making a smart long-term decision. That interest eventually grew into a career as both a real estate agent and investor.

My approach is hands-on, analytical, and low-pressure. I help clients understand the tradeoffs between different homes, neighborhoods, pricing strategies, renovation opportunities, and potential risks. My goal is to help people make decisions they understand and feel confident about, not simply get them to closing.

Before real estate, I built a career in teaching and coaching. I taught psychology courses at San Francisco State University, worked with students at a software engineering bootcamp, and helped more than 250 people navigate career changes. I also earned a master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. That background shaped how I work today: I ask thoughtful questions, explain complicated information clearly, and help clients stay focused on what matters most.

As an investor, I have purchased and renovated fixer-upper properties. That experience helps me look beyond finishes and staging to evaluate a home’s condition, layout, renovation potential, and likely costs. Whether a client wants something move-in ready or a property with upside, I can help them assess the possibilities realistically.

I created my YouTube channel, Living in the SF Bay Area, to give people an honest, useful look at the communities, homes, and lifestyles that make this region special.

Whether you are buying, selling, relocating, or investing, you can expect straightforward advice, careful preparation, and a clear strategy. No pressure or generic sales pitch, just a thoughtful conversation about what you are trying to accomplish and how I can help.
